Ben Corbin,
Class of 2004
Aerospace Engineering major University of Central Florida
and recipient of a $10,000 Astronaut Scholarship Foundation award
"The Collegiate High School not only prepared me for higher education, enabled me to accelerate through basic studies, and allowed me to pursue specialized classes early on, it freed enough time for me at my university to join and be active in clubs, volunteer tutor Physics, meet important people in the space industry, and travel the world for free. I would not trade my Collegiate High experience for anything."
Brittney Theis,
Class of 2006
Mechanical Engineering major
Florida State University
"The Collegiate High School definitely made a huge impact on my life. It not only helped me get a jump start on college, but it encouraged me to develop my independence and made me more responsible for myself. The staff and faculty really know and care about their students and that made all the difference in the transition to a new school and even the transition of going to university. I still visit the school on break from FSU and they are always willing to help with any problem or just talk about what's new. The Collegiate High School really made all the difference for me and I would recommend everyone interested in getting ahead and a chance to grow definitely look into applying to the Collegiate High School."
Morgan Anderson
Class of 2007
Architecture major
Auburn University
“My decision to attend the Collegiate High School changed me/my life. I am currently in the College of Architecture at the University of Auburn, and I would not be here today if it weren't for my decision to attend Collegiate HS. First, I found my talent in design during my years at CHS, and I was prepared for college life which has given me an edge over some of my peers. The Auburn architecture program is intense, so having almost all of my general classes out of the way has lightened my load and allowed me to focus mainly on my dreams. . . “.

Annie
Wilcoxen, Class of 2004
Flager
College cum laude graduate,
5th grade teacher, Palm Coast Florida
"I became
a teacher at 20 years old! I was definitely prepared for the
college I went on to . . . the Collegiate HS was one of the
best experiences of my life. It's a great atmosphere for students
to be challenged without having to sacrifice their 'high school
experience . . . "
Angela
Piccione, Class of 2003
University of Notre Dame, senior
Mathematics major with Theology minor
"I learned
before I got to college what to expect from college classes
. . . for me it worked as a really good transition. The school
isn't for everyone . . . don't do it just for the free college
credit. Do it because you want to be in an accelerated environment
around other accelerated high school students and immersed into
a college environment.. . . it offers a very unique learning
experience."
Alex
Phillip, Class of 2004
University of Florida, student
Microbiology and Cell Science major, Chemistry minor.
"The
instructors (at NWFSCHS) are so gifted and courteous -- they treat
you with respect and give you the space you deserve as a college
level student. Dr. Ritter's college biology class paved the
way to all the science classes I'm currently taking. When I
did my science fair project at CHS, the faculty gave me full
access to top-of-the-line equipment and all facilities. The
college professors would always lend a helping hand when I needed
it. It was amazing, and it really stimulated my passion for
biology. Hence, today I am microbiology major."
Jenna
Minter, Class of 2004
University of Central Florida senior.
Accounting graduate
"I remember
most the loving staff, the great teachers, and the freedom we
had as high school students. . . . After being at the university
for a year, I realize how awesome it was to have free books
and two years of college totally free!"
Sarah
Simpson, Class of 2004
University of West Florida student
"It
is such a great opportunity . . . by the time I left, I was
more confident in, not only, myself but in my abilities to handle
the future. Sending me to the Collegiate High School was the
best decision my parents ever made."
Eric
Jernigan, Class of 2003
University of West Florida
Bachelor of Arts graduate
"If
you're serious about exploring the options available to you
in life and would like guidance from faculty members who actually
care about where you end up and encourage free thinking, this
is the place for you. The environment is safe and friendly .
. . by the time I graduated, I was in love with every aspect
of the school, was learning and thinking on levels I had never
imagined before, had formed valuable relationships with nearly
all of the faculty members, and made dozens of friends . . ."
Taylor Tucker,
Crestview
Class of 2007
"Here the teachers are positive and everyone is goal oriented. It's easy to make friends in a small school. You don't have the distractions public school's have like discipline problems or crowded classrooms. As a career, I want to go into law and I know I have a lot of years ahead. This school allows me to get a jump start on it. "
Kaci Downing,
Shalimar
Class of 2007
"I heard many good things about this school from others before I applied for admission. I thought getting an AA degree now would be a good opportunity. I love the small school environment. Everyone is friendly and the instructors know us by name. This is definitely a wonderful experience!"
Chris Flow,
Santa Rosa Beach
Class of 2007
"As soon as I came here I knew it was the place for me - everyone is positive and wants to be here, wants to be challenged, wants to learn. I really like the small school environment and how everyone relates to each other. If someone was thinking about coming here, I'd definitely say -- examine yourself and your goals - you have to be responsible and want to learn, but all the teachers here really care and try to help you out."
Chad Goleta,
Crestview
Class of 2007
"Having a laptop computer was a definite appeal, plus the setting is great. The teachers treat you like adults. I feel like they're not just teachers but friends. There's more work than traditional high school, but the learning environment is relaxed and not intimidating. The classes are smaller and I can take extra courses like guitar or voice with the college instructors."
Morgan Anderson,
Niceville
Class of 2007
"The draw of the [Mattie Kelly] Arts Center theater was a big thing for me when I came to the Collegiate High School. At my old high school we had a non-existing theater department. Northwest Florida State College has the whole package. Theater is my passion and I was bubbling over with excitement when the Collegiate school's International Thespian Society was formed . . . I have enjoyed the help I have received from everyone in the technical theater program at The Arts Center. In fact, all of the teachers I have had so far in school have helped me and wanted me to succeed at whatever I was doing. That is why I like going to school here."
Josh Moore,
Fort Walton Beach
Class of 2007
"The Collegiate High is a great environment for any student who takes their education seriously and enjoys a small school environment. . . . here you are not tied down . . . and there is a sense of independence and freedom."
Mark Boyd,
Niceville
Class of 2007
"I love the social atmosphere here. Everyone is so welcoming. In my previous high school if you chose one set of friends, you couldn't hang out with anyone else. Here, everyone is friends with everyone. There is no set schedule for classes that everyone has to take; schedules are personalized for each individual."
